Privacy Policy

The short version

This website itself collects almost nothing. There are no cookies, no advertising trackers and no mailing lists; audience is measured with a cookieless tool that cannot recognise you from one day to the next. The contact form is not connected to any server: it opens a ready-to-send email in your own email app, addressed to us. When you book a call, the booking happens on Google's booking page; when you tap the WhatsApp button, the conversation happens in WhatsApp. The only thing this site stores in your browser is your language choice. That's the whole story; the details are below.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for this website is The Nest Barcelona, a relocation service based in Barcelona, Spain:

  • Business name: The Nest Barcelona
  • Operated by: Morgane Florez, sole trader (autónoma) registered in Spain
  • Tax ID (NIE): Y9452817S
  • Registered address: Riera de Can Toda, 08024 Barcelona, Spain
  • Email: hello@thenestbcn.com

For anything related to your personal data, write to hello@thenestbcn.com.

2. What happens when you use the contact form

The form in the Contact section (first name, last name, email, phone, message and how you heard about us) is not connected to any server or database. When you press "Book your call", your browser opens your own email application with a message pre-filled from what you typed, addressed to hello@thenestbcn.com. Nothing is sent until you press "send" in your email app, and nothing you type is stored by this site. Your email then reaches our mailbox, hosted by Google Workspace (Google Ireland Limited), like any other email, and we use it only to answer you and prepare the call. Legal basis: the steps needed before entering into a contract, and your consent (art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). If you leave every field empty, no email is prepared and the booking calendar simply opens (see below).

3. What happens when you book a call

Once the email step is done (or skipped), the "Book your call" button loads a booking page provided by Google Calendar (Google Ireland Limited) into this site — nothing is loaded from Google before you click it. The details you enter there — typically your name, email address and the time you choose — are processed by Google under its own privacy policy and arrive in our calendar so we can hold the call with you. We use them for that call and the conversation that follows — nothing else. Legal basis: the steps needed before entering into a contract, and your consent (art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).

4. What happens when you use WhatsApp

The WhatsApp button opens a conversation in WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Limited), which processes your data under its own privacy policy. We see what you send us there — your phone number, your name as set in WhatsApp and your messages — and use it only to answer you. Legal basis: your consent and the steps needed before entering into a contract (art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).

5. Cookies and local storage

This site uses no cookies — no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party trackers of any kind (audience is measured without cookies, see section 6). Fonts are served from this site itself, so no third-party font servers see your visit.

The only thing stored in your browser is one localStorage entry (nest-lang) that remembers the language you picked (English, French or Spanish). It never leaves your browser, identifies nobody, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

6. Analytics (without cookies)

To understand how the site is used, we rely on Vercel Web Analytics, a measurement tool built into our hosting that works without cookies: it stores nothing in your browser and reads nothing from it. Visitors are counted through a hash derived from the incoming request, which is discarded after 24 hours, so you cannot be recognised from one day to the next or across websites. What we see is aggregated only: pages viewed, referring site, country, device and browser type, and which buttons are used (for example "Book your call" or WhatsApp). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because nothing is stored on your device, no cookie banner is needed.

7. Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel (Vercel Inc., USA), acting as our processor under its data processing agreement, which includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the European Economic Area. Like any host, Vercel processes technical server logs (such as IP addresses) needed to deliver the site securely.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your emails, booking details and messages only as long as needed to handle your request and any conversation that follows. If we don't end up working together, they are deleted no later than 12 months after our last exchange. If you become a client, the information needed for the service and for legal obligations (such as invoicing) is kept for the periods required by Spanish law.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can, at any time: access the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw your consent (which doesn't affect what was done before the withdrawal). One email to hello@thenestbcn.com is enough.

If you believe we haven't handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish supervisory authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).

10. Changes to this policy

If the way this site handles data ever changes — for example if we ever add cookies or advertising tools — this page will be updated before the change goes live, with a new "last updated" date at the top.
